Dear Me (1998),

You are my best friend in the whole world, and I screwed it up big time. I am writing this letter to me so that I would know what would come of my careless actions. We had so much fun together, sleepovers, lining up for movies, sharing all of our firsts. Then HE entered the picture and everything changed, I thought he was good for you and the 2 of you were so happy I loved being the 3rd wheel while Mike was out of town.

Then HE went away to settle some debts and came back different. He also brought you some "unexpected gifts". I got mad at you for not listening to me that things had changed with HIM. And I cut the ties that had binded us sine we were 12.

I am so sorry that you had to go through everything alone. I know times were hard for you and your family, and I just ignored you and tried not to get involved. Even though we are still friends, we will never be that close again. Every time we talk now I feel that things are strained and awkward.

But know this, we do still talk. You were at my baby shower, you have met my son, and you are with an awesome guy now. If I knew I could go back in time and change everything that happened between us I would, but only if I new you would end up in the same life you have now.
